Blue Hospitality

Prairie sky
spills periwinkle
 vast and wide.
This favored
color poured
from on high
becomes a
generously spread
 welcome laid
for pilgrims
migrating
toward
homecoming.

The prompt is "Gathering Blue". Come over to 3 from here and there and join the fun with Claire, Kelly, and Sarah. Offer yours.

Loverby and I just returned from a circuitous loop to North Dakota and back. "This Land is Your Land" played a loop in our heads the entire time. Harvest across the prairie is glorious. There was something in the air. It looked like hope - waving, piled, stacked, transported, waiting, and stored up.

Boy, would I like to see that! Everything down here is dead, dead, dead, dead, dead.

Oh, a wonderful trip - and as always, your poetry lifts my spirits... I am so glad you linked up with us at Three!

Kinda makes me want to knock on the top, just to see if anybody's home.

Wish I'd known you were in North Dakota. I'd have waved hello from the South. Hope your travels were good and restful.

I just sang that song this evening at dinner! Now it's rolling through my head, too. :)

My youngest daughter visited north Dakota this summer - her boyfriend was inferring Bismarck. They spent most of their time filling sand bags and building dukes and she came hme exhausted and happy.

It is in our homecomings we feel Love come alive.

Lovely post Kathleen. Beautiful photo
