Silent Cry

Lashes try fast
to wick away
flood of salt rain
white water rapids
wild and rough
a fall of water using
cheeks as channel

no wiper blade
fast enough to
keep up
with the deluge
blinding eyes

ride it out
hang on tight
there is no rope or
life jacket to help
if you fall out
onto skull crushing
rocks sucking you limp
into river running
canyon who
swallows its victims
whole

Oh, I like this one, Kathleen. It is clean, sharp, fast.

roughly rubbed moist eyes
do nothing
but smear mascara

(btw, i don't wear eye make-up so my fingertips only rub out my eyelashes from their roots; i hope this poem of yours isn't a self-story of late, hoping you are okay)

I read this late yesterday and woke up this morning thinking about you and the taste of salt ... I see by your post this morning things are better.

Your poem found my heart this morning when my heart dearly needed your poem.

Thank you.
